The Good Surveyor is one of those rare businesses that is exactly what it says it is. In fact, I would say it’s a bit undersold: it’s not good, it’s excellent! Toni’s Level 2 survey for my house purchase was 65 pages long, packed full of specific detail and photographs. She followed it up with a phone call which went beyond the official reporting requirements to a candid informal assessment of the property, and she concluded with the offer of further consultation on the report, as needed. This is not my first house; I know how perfunctory and legalistic surveyor’s reports can be, and how much they can miss (in my last house, the surveyor missed a cut and crimped back gas pipe in the hall cupboard, a leaking chimney, and a hazardous self-installed fireplace). As a surveyor, Toni is worth her weight in gold.

Having looked around for a surveyor, I went with The Good Surveyor because they were competitively priced and their offerings were clearly expressed and comprehensive. Having now experienced their service, I’m very glad I went with them. Mike was meticulous to a fault, gave us significant detail, provided both reassurance and notes for the future. He was kind enough to tour us around the property both outside and in so we could see what he was referring to, answered every question, and gave us a pragmatic and common sense take on everything. Very human, very good – just what we needed.

We have had a fantastic experience with Mike from The Good Surveyor. Thorough Level 2 survey and a very generous amount of time to discuss findings. The report is easy to follow for non-subject experts and includes photos. This made our first time purchase a much better experience.

Right from my initial conversations with Jess ,the whole process was seamless through to the day of survey and the feedback call with Andy.

What impressed me most was that due to the age of the property I was convinced we needed a level 3 survey and Toni took the time to phone me and explain why it wouldn’t be beneficial for us. They could’ve easily taken the money as I was close to booking it!

Not only were they all friendly and incredibly knowledgeable but the major plus…. cheaper than all their competitors. Great service and a great price! I would definitely recommend!

What a great company to deal with! Found on Google and saw the good reviews so gave them a call, Jess was super friendly and sorted me out a very fair quote there and then so I went ahead and booked in. Survey day came around and I wasn’t expecting to hear anything for a few days, but Andy phoned me that afternoon to let me know how he had got on and ran through some of the important findings, and happily explained some of the building terms I didn’t understand. It was so nice to have my mind put at rest rather than waiting a few days for the full report. The full report came in less than 48 hours later and was very detailed and easy to read. Would definitely reocmmend!
